By handling your own insurance coverage, you decide when and who to pay and can get competitive quotes that benefit you, not the motor carrier. Letting your motor carrier purchase your insurance is no guarantee of the best price.

By purchasing your own insurance you will continue to be covered without interruption should you decide to leave your current carrier or take own other jobs. Remember, it is most likely your coverage ends the moment you are told or you tell them you are not with a carrier , often not even providing coverage for you to get home.
